Signs of Roxicet Abuse

8 Telltale Signs of Roxicet Abuse

The signs of Roxicet abuse are not always as cut and dry as they might be with other substances so it is not always that easy to recognize. When someone is drunk you can tell that they are drunk but with Roxicet abuse, as well as with other opiates, this is not always the case. Someone that has developed a tolerance to Roxicet may appear normal even after just using.

1.     If you have a hunch that someone you know is abusing Roxicet then look for pinpoint pupils. Pinpoint pupils are not commonly found in a dim room but rather in a well-lit room. Some other signs of Roxicet abuse are when an individual keeps nodding off. They will say that they are tired and didn't get much sleep but normal people do not fall out during a conversation. Because opiates depress the central nervous system, lethargy is one of the common signs of Roxicet abuse.

2.     Other signs of Roxicet abuse come predominantly when an individual does not have their drug. The signs mimic the flu so the first couple of times you might fall for this excuse but the average person does not get "sick" that many times. Look for sweating, vomiting, cramping, diarrhea, goose bumps, and nausea especially when the symptoms seem to remarkably vanish.

3.     Look for itchiness as one of the signs of Roxicet abuse. The reason for this is that any type of opiate makes people itch for some reason, especially in the face. You might find that the people are always scratching or picking at themselves. Some of these symptoms cannot peg an opiate user by themselves but if they are combined with any other symptoms they should send out a red flag.

4.     Usually, people that abuse Roxicet are always cold. These people might be wearing a sweater when everyone else is comfortable or even warm. Signs of Roxicet abuse are always being cold, especially when they are in the beginning stages of withdrawal.

5.     One of the other signs of Roxicet abuse is related to sleep. When opiate users are high they have a tendency to sleep. The sleep might be at the oddest and inappropriate times. This will happen more than once, it would be consistent as long as they are high but when they are out of dope and getting sick they will usually have insomnia.

6.     Further signs of Roxicet abuse include constant complaining of stomach problems. There are many reasons for this: opiate users suffer from constipation; they eat very little because they like to take their pills on an empty stomach so they don't interfere with their buzz. Another reason is that opiates make many people vomit so that is another possibility.

7.     Some other physical signs of Roxicet abuse include a consistently runny nose and shallow breathing.

8.     Additional signs of Roxicet abuse include spending a lot of money with nothing to show for it, always borrowing money, missing money, etc.

Keep in mind that these signs of Roxicet abuse can vary depending on the person and all of them might not be evident in any one person. You likely already had a hunch that someone you care for is abusing opiates, which is what brought you to us. Asking an addict if they are using can be like banging your head against a wall so you have to look for the obvious signs of Roxicet abuse and do the initial investigative work yourself. Once you are pretty sure that your hunches were right you can advance.

You can possibly get the addict in your life to agree to entering inpatient treatment but if not you may have to go with an intervention approach. The sooner that this is accomplished the better off your loved one will be. Roxicet abuse can be fatal, especially if it is mixed with any other substance.

Often addicts can conceal their addiction for quite some time, this is common. It can take a while for those around the addict to catch on and see that two plus two does not equal five. It is then, not always easy to confirm your suspicions. It is always a good idea if you know someone that has recently or in the past been prescribed pain medication to keep an unsuspecting eye on their medication and how it is filled and taken. Most opiates carry a high potential for addiction. If you are concerned that someone you care about is struggling with opiates, we want you to call us so we can help you start the path to recovery.
